Course Overview

A drone instructor course is designed to provide training in drone operations. It combines theory with practical flight experience. A certified drone trainer instructs aspiring drone pilots in drone flying as per the guidelines of the DGCA. This course is perfect for those who have a keen interest in drones as well as teaching.  When the drone trainer training is completed and they attain the certification, they can work with drone training academies, companies providing drone services or start their own business as a trainer. The use of drones in India is growing rapidly, with thousands of operators being trained annually. As the number of drone operators rises, the demand for drone pilot trainers will also increase.


Eligibility for a Drone Instructor Course in India

To pursue a drone instructor course in India, one should follow all these eligibility criteria.

• The candidate must have passed a degree course from a University/institute recognised by UGC/AICTE or equivalent, or have a valid PPL/ CPL, AME/ ATC Licence or Diploma (03 years) in a technical subject from a recognised institute
• One should have a Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) from a DGCA-approved RPTO.
• As far as the age criteria are concerned, one should be at least 18 years and not more than 65 years.
• A person should have either an Aadhaar & Valid passport, Driving License, Voter ID or Ration Card.

The syllabus for a drone trainer course focuses on both theoretical skills and practical drone operations. The key subjects include:

• Live Field Training

  • Practical sessions where aspirant trainers demonstrate drone operations under supervision.
  • Includes day and night flying, BVLOS and obstacle avoidance techniques.

Day 1 - Registration & Theory Sessions (Online/Offline)

  • Registration - 15 mins.
  • Technical Theory Training - 05:00 hrs.

 

Day 2 - Theory Sessions (Online/Offline)

  • Teaching & Learning Instruction - 07:30 hrs

 

Day 3 - Offline at Flying Location

  • Flight Simulator Training - 02:00 hrs.
  • Practical Flying with Instructor/Solo Flying - 02:00 hrs

 

Day 4 - Offline at Flying Location

  • Practical Flying with Instructor/Solo Flying (If any)
  • Final Test - Multirotor - 00:30 hrs.

Drone Instructor Salary in India

Remote pilot instructor salary in India depends on the location, experience and the type of organisation.

Entry-Level

• Monthly Salary: INR 30,000 to 60,000
• Annual Salary: INR 3.5 to 7 lakhs

Mid-Level

• Monthly Salary: INR 50,000 to 1.2 lakhs
• Annual Salary: INR 6 to 15 lakhs
